        <name>Alley</name>
        <desc>Area on which the game is played. Quality ranges from fairly easy to pretty crappy - guess which extreme ours is closest to!</desc>

        <desc>The player that bowls last for your team in a particular half. Rhymes with banker, flanker and tanker among other things.</desc>

        <name>Beaver</name>

        <desc>The formation of the nine pins, or an honourable gentleman.</desc>

        <name>'Easy' Two</name>
        <desc>Leaving only the left and right copper and having just the one ball left. For wise words on how to take BOTH pins, please consult 'the book'.</desc>

        <name>Enema</name>
        <desc>Clearing out the middle three pins only. Ouch!</desc>

    <term>
        <name>Flatner</name>
        <desc>The act of knocking over all nine pins with a single ball.</desc>

        <name>Fresh Air Ball</name>
        <desc>See 'Whoooshaahh!'.</desc>

        <name>Get 'Em Fair!</name>
        <desc>An exclamation made by the opposing team when the player on the alley has had a pinfall that was veering towards the fortunate. The phrase 'No luck at all!' may also be used in this situation.</desc>

        <name>Half</name>
        <desc>Well, skittles is a game of two halves Brian.</desc>

    <term>
        <name>Hand</name>
        <desc>A set of three balls. Five hands make a 'leg'.</desc>

        <name>Leg</name>
        <desc>A set of five hands. Ten legs make a 'half'. There are many more anatomical references in skittles, but I can't mention all of them!</desc>

        <name>MFES</name>
        <desc>Acronym for 'Missed a frightfully easy spare'. Or something.</desc>

        <name>No-ball</name>
        <desc>When the ball is delivered, if it bounces beyond a while line on the alley or it touches one of the sides of the alley before it reaches the diamond, then it is a no-ball. Any pins knocked down by that ball are replaced and you lose that ball. Idiot!</desc>

        <name>Setter</name>
        <desc>The player that bowls first for your team in a particular half. If he or she is a red setter, then they could probably do with exercising more often.</desc>

        <name>Spare</name>
        <desc>Knocking down all nine pins with the first one or two balls, thus leaving the player with one or two 'spare' balls. Obviously!</desc>
